The D106 is the DC (direct current) only version of the 106 series of 2-way normally closed direct acting poppet type solenoid valves. The D106 is produced without a shading ring making it unsuitable for use on AC voltages (for AC versions see the E106 series). This series features a hot-stamped brass body, with a choice of 1/8", 1/4", 3/8" or 1/2"BSP (G) threaded ports. The armature tube is produced in stainless steel.

An important feature of the 106 armature tube is the use of laser welding to secure the fixed armature (core) to the tube itself, this not only produces a very secure join suitable for up to 80 bar pressure but also minimises heat distortion at the top of the armature tube. This is particularly useful for solenoid valves operating on AC as it results in valves that operate with the minimum of mains hum.

The moving and fixed armatures are made from magnetic stainless steel. The return spring is also produced from stainless steel.

The armature seal and armature tube o'rings can be supplied in a choice of material; Buna (NBR, nitrile), EPDM or FPM.

The maximum allowable pressure for most media is 80 bar**, although the maximum pressure for steam is 6 bar (gauge pressure) with PTFE seals and 2.5 bar with EPDM seals (above these pressures the temperature of the steam would exceed the maximum allowable temperature for the seals).

The valve body is equipped with two M6 threaded mounting holes, for ease of integration into product design the these valves may be mounted in any orientation.

Options (call Beta Valve sales office for details):

Electroless nickel plating
Stainless steel seat insert
Factory degreasing for oxygen
UL approved coils

Maximum fluid viscosity 25cSt (mm ²/s).

Two ranges of ACL's standard solenoid coils are compatible with the D106 series the Type 2 and Type 5, these coils are available in standard voltages from 12v to 48v DC. These coils are rated for continuous duty (100%ED).

ACL offer a choice of solenoid coil insulation class - class F coils which allow the valve to be used in an ambient temperature range of between -10°C +55°C and class H coils (standard for Type 5 coils) which increases the maximum ambient temperature to +80°C.

These coils are designed to be used with our CNE large electrical connectors, with the connector fitted they offer IP65 protection and IP00 without connector.

Orifice size from 1.5 mm to 6.4 mm, all the valves will operate from zero pressure, the smallest standard orifice of 1.5 mm allows the valve to operate up to 80 bar.

Example product code: D106AB20/20B: 1/8" threaded ports, NBR seal, coil 24V DC

** Dependent on valve/coil combination chosen.
