The SMR7 series from Saturn Magnetic are an established range of 2-way normally closed brass bodied direct acting solenoid valves. The body is able to provide 1/8" –1/4” (BSP) inlet and outlet ports. This series features a brass body, with a brass armature tube. The body may be optionally chemically nickel plated. The moving and fixed armatures are made from stainless steel. The return spring is also produced from stainless steel.

The SMR7 is a gas approved solenoid valve certified to EN161 for use with Natural Gas, Propane Gas and Coke Gas as a safety shut off device or slam shut valve. The scope of this standard covers the overall design, construction, testing, and safety requirements for quick shut-off valves.

Applications include:

• gas power burners
• atmospheric gas boilers
• industrial kilns
• many other gas appliances.

The seal can be supplied in a choice of material; EPDM or FKM.

The maximum allowable pressure for most media is 15 bar**, although the maximum pressure for steam is 3 bar. (gauge pressure) as above this the temperature of the steam would exceed the maximum allowable temperature for the seals.

Orifice size from 2.0 mm to 5.0 mm, all the valves will operate from zero pressure; the smallest standard orifice of 1.5 mm allows the valve to operate up to 15 bar.** Maximum operating pressure depends on the orifice size (larger orifice sizes reduce the maximum operating pressure), type of coil used and the use of AC or DC voltages.
