The Third Series low pressure solenoid valve has a special softer diaphragm and new control orifices that give consistant opening and closing times at lower pressures. This makes the valve particularly suited to toilet flushing using water from a low pressure gravity fed water supply, since the volume of water used can be accurately controlled using a timer and the fast opening time produces the dynamic flow conditions that reliably clears the toilet bowl. When compared to large direct acting solenoid valves, which operated with a pronounced thud, the use of servo operation also makes for very quite operation, which is important in domestic and other residential environments.
