Data Sheet/Certifications:
The 108 Series is a line up of 2-way normally-closed solenoid valves with assisted lift diaphragm.
These ACL solenoid valves are constructed with a brass body and top cover, with a stainless-steel armature tube, armature (plunger) and springs. Versions for AC (alternating current) incorporate a copper shading ring to prevent the valve from buzzing, on smaller sizes of the 108 this does not significantly affect the performance of the valve when used on DC (direct current), but to maximise the pressure range on larger sizes (3/4" and 1") the D108 version should be specified when a DC supply is used.
The assisted-lift type valve uses two operating principles, firstly the solenoid attracts the armature towards the core, uncovering the pilot hole in the diaphragm, at high water pressures this allows the water above the diaphragm to exhaust into the valves outlet lowering the pressure above the diaphragm and causing the diaphragm to rise off the valve seat causing the valve to open. The armature is also attached to the diaphragm by a spring, at low pressure the diaphragm is pulled upwards ,to open the valve, by the movement of the armature into the core, For maximum flow with the diaphragm fully open, a differential pressure of at least 0,15 bar is necessary. This dual action operation makes the 108 series suitable over a wide pressure range from zero to 12 bar (see individual valve specification).
The maximum allowable pressure for the 108 series of solenoid valves is 25 bar. These valves can be used on water, air or mineral oil based fluids or any other media compatible with brass and the FPM diaphragm and with a maximum fluid viscosity 25cSt (mm ²/s).
The series 108 can be fitted with a class F coil giving an operating temperature range of -10°C +55°C, or a class H coil which increases the allowed maximum ambient temperature to +80°C.
It is recommended by the manufacturers that the valve be mounted with the solenoid coil vertically above the valve.
Optionally valves from the 108 series can have the brass body electroless nickel plated, please contact Beta's sales office for pricing and availability.
