Gas Shut-off Solenoid Valve Approved

The approved versions of the SMR/7 solenoid valve from Beta Valve comply with EN161:2002 and are suitable for use in gas powered equipment. Beta Valve Systems Ltd. have recently announced that approval to EN161:2002 has been granted the 12v dc and 24vdc versions of the brass-bodied poppet solenoid valve SMR/7.

The approval was achieved through a co-operation between the manufacturer Saturn Magnetic srl, Beta Valve Systems Ltd and the independent test house Advantica.

The standard SMR/7 solenoid valve is a well established product for Beta having been used in a wide range of applications using water, oil and air.  However the lack of approval to EN161:2002 made it unsuitable for use on gas powered equipment manufactured for use with within the EU.

The SMR/7 is a brass 2-way normally closed direct acting solenoid valve with a 2 mm diameter orifice and 1/8" BSP (G) ports.

Both approved and non-approved version of the valve are available from stock at Beta Valve
