Electromagnetic Water Meters

electromagnetic water meter

Electromagnetic water meters offer an extremely accurate (down to 0.2%) and responsive method of measuring water flow at virtually no loss of head.

Our electronic water meters can be used with any liquid having electrical conductivity of at least 5µs/cm.

The complete meter is made up of two parts the sensor and the converter. The converter processes the signal produced by the sensor into real world units. Sensors and converters can be selected independently to suit each installation. The converter can be connected to the sensor two ways:

  1. "COMPACT" - Installed on the sensor body (sensor position: horizontal or vertical).
  2. "SEPARATE" - Installed up to up to 100m away from the sensor.
Beta Valve offer a wide choice of styles of sensor from Euromag. Depending on model and the converter used these sensors are capable of measuring flow with an accuracy down to 0.2%.

Most sensor models are available with a choice of electrode material to suit the users media.
  • AISI 316L (standard)
  • Hastelloy B
  • Hastelloy C
  • Titanium
  • Tantalum
  • Platinum
A range of converters is available to suit the sensors shown above, most have a display for the local indication of the required measurement (flow, volume, direction, alarms etc). All offer electrical relay outputs that can be configured as alarms or pulse outputs for volume. Several models offer a 4-20mA analogue output and the option of additional RS485 and relay outputs.
